I am going hiking for 5 days in Nepal and seeing first hand the work that SIMAVI is doing. 5 days - 10 KM per day - up to 3000 meter above see level!!
It's a personal challenge for me as I don't do much hiking. And as much as it is a challenge for myself, it is a big challenge for SIMAVI in Nepal and trying to reduce the deathrate of mothers and babies, which is one of the highest in Asia.
Hi everyone,
I was not able to make it to Nepal after all....:(...the good news is that I might be able to postpone to next year!
Your donation stands and has been doing great work! I will share some pictures of my colleagues who did make. Again THANK YOU for your support!
Hi everyone! Just a quick update.... As of yesterday all people with a German, French or Italian passport are refused entry into Nepal. ....and yes, I so happen to still have a German passport! KLM had me boarded and flown to Delhi, where my layover was, just to send me right back!! So it looks like I have to postpone my hiking trip.... unless flying 24 hours counts?? 😂😂
I will send you another update as soon as I know more!
Packing bags as we speak - Corona and all...we are going!! As of Wednesday I will send updates from Nepal :)
Hi everyone,
my fundraising has started...and I'll have to get working on it:)...so has my training. I was good on my way with a hike in the dunes the other week...but then I was too fanatic last weekend when practicing running steps...so I got my foot taped up, whoops! But - have a great physiotherapist and he'll just have to fix me :)...So I am still on!!
Today we had a practice walk....almost 15 KM....in the rain...but I made it!!
